About Nea Iraklitsa

Nea Iraklitsa is located 15 km away from the town of Kavala. It is very easy to reach – through the new highway for Thessaloniki, down the road for Nea Peramos. The proximity to Kavala has made the village a favorite spot among the locals, both as a place to build a summer house and as a place to spend one’s days off. The village can be compared to a resort – with taverns and beach bars, as well as several small hotels. The beach is incredible – golden sand, shallow blue waters and a broad, 3.5 km long shoreline with a path for pedestrians and cyclists.

Nea Peramos is located 16 km away from Iraklitsa. The village is a typical Greek resort and can rival some of the most famous holiday spots. It offers many taverns, cafes and bars. The hill in the outskirts of Peramos is the site of the ancient fortress Anaktoroupoli. Its walls are 2 m thick and about 6.5 m high and used to contain a small town.

The exotic Amolofoi are located west of Peramos. They are ranked among the top 20 best beaches in Greece, whose qualities have been recognized internationally and honored with a Blue Flag certificate. The waters are crystal clear. The beaches are dotted with numerous bars. There are good conditions for sea sports.
